This Privacy Policy explains how the Live Like Ally Foundation, LLC (LLAF) may collect, use, share, and safeguard information provided by third parties.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We reserve the right to amend the Privacy Policy at any time, for any reason. The date of the last revision to the Privacy Policy will be indicated by the “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page.

Information We Collect

Personally Identifiable Information: We may collect information that identifies you (“Personally Identifiable Information”) when you: provide such information on our Website, or otherwise interact with the LLAF. The types of Personally Identifiable Information collected  may include your name, address, phone number, birth date, e-mail address, education status, social security numbers, or certain financial information.

Sensitive Information: Personal Information that is intended to be private and never shared includes but is not limited to, birth date, education status, social security numbers, or financial information.

Publicly Shareable Information: We may receive information from you that will be available to be shared on the Website, blog, or social media postings. This may include, but not be limited to the periodic written reports our Awardees are expected to submit, along with any accompanying photographs, videos, etc.  And it may include any blog posts or comments that may be posted on the Website.

How We Use and Share Personally Identifiable Information

Once collected, we may use your Personally Identifiable Information in a variety of ways including, but not limited to the following:

  • to communicate with you and respond to your e-mails or online requests.
  • to evaluate your initial request or application for eligibility for a grant/scholarship.
  • to share with third parties as required by law or to protect the LLAF as described below.
  • to list the Awardees of any grants or scholarships.

Publication of Your Personally Identifiable Information for Awardee Listings and Blogs. To allow other grant applicants and the public to hear about, and understand about our mission and the good work being done, some non-sensitive Personally Identifiable Information we receive may be published on the Website and other print or digital media, such as your name and information about your travels.  Such Awardee Lists or postings will not include sensitive information, such as financial information, addresses, or social security numbers.

Users may request all their Personally Identifiable Information be suppressed from Lists or postings by contacting us, but Awardees are expected to allow some sharing of their information barring some unusual circumstances, for which LLAF may grant an exception solely at its discretion.

Sharing Your Personally Identifiable Information When Legally Necessary or to Protect the LLAF’s Interests. The LLAF may disclose your Personally Identifiable Information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process served on the LLAF; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of LLAF; or (c) protect the personal safety of LLAF personnel or members of the public in appropriate circumstances. In addition, if the LLAF and/or its assets (or a portion of its assets) are sold, assigned, transferred, or merged, or if the LLAF undergoes some other change including a change to its corporate form, information may be transferred as part of that transaction or change.

Sharing Your E-mail Address Pursuant to LLAF Policy. Your e-mail address will only be used by the LLAF and related entities. We do not sell or rent e-mail addresses to anyone outside the LLAF and related entities. The LLAF will also not share e-mail addresses to unrelated third-parties, affiliates, or the public. The LLAF may share your e-mail address with third parties to enable the LLAF to take security measures to help protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data.

Children Under the Age of 13

We do not knowingly collect personal data online from or market online to children under the age of 13.

Information Security

The LLAF implements reasonable security measures to help protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. Except for Awardee Lists and the other sharing of information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, we generally restrict access to personally identifiable information and all sensitive information to LLAF agents and employees who need to know that information in order to develop or implement our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.  Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Accordingly, and despite our best efforts, the LLAF cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our online products or services.
